Thyroid

“Thyroid function is just one part of the ‘Energy Triangle.’  For the absolute best results, you also need to balance hormones and regain adrenal function.  The three systems work together like a symphony; if one section of the orchestra is offbeat, the music just doesn’t sound right.”

The thyroid is known as the thermostat of the body.  It produces hormones that keep our metabolic rate stable and keep the energy-producing processes, well, producing energy.  Proper function of the thyroid is essential for proper body temperature regulation, growth, protein synthesis, and oxygen take-up by the cells.  When the thyroid is not working optimally, the rest of the body cannot function properly.

Women are particularly susceptible to thyroid abnormalities.  Recent estimates show thyroid disease affects approximately half of the adult population.  Having an under-active thyroid, or hypothyroid, is one of the causes of low energy.
